Ron's Rescue

Begun just a year and a half ago, Ron's Rescue was quick to become the "heart" of the Ron Foley Foundation. The ability to provide financial relief directly to patients fighting pancreatic cancer was readily embraced by our community. To date, we have helped many patients and hope to increase the number by extending our reach to hospitals throughout Connecticut. The Foundation is pleased to report that it has established Ron's Rescue relationships with St. Francis Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, the John DeQuattro Cancer Center and Danbury Hospital, in addition to Hartford Hospital.

  • Personal Stories

    In 2012, the Ron Foley Foundation began sponsoring a series of "Ask the Experts" lectures to provide more information about pancreatic cancer. Attendees range from patients, to family and friends of those with the disease, to social workers and healthcare professionals and more. The goal is to raise awareness, but also to help connect people with the support they need.

    In early-November, Nancy Wilcock attended just such a session with her father, Jack Mahon, who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June. After the meeting, Nancy’s father turned to her and said, "We have to figure out how to help these people." Read more

Unlike Churchill Downs, weather was never an issue for the 5th annual Ron’s Run for the Roses.  Nothing but sunny skies greeted our 400 glamorous guests as they walked the New Country Motors Mercedes-Benz red carpet and struck a pose. Read more

In November, we teamed up with the Hartford Marathon Foundation for our first 5K! Our Zombie Chase was an eerie success, with over 400 runners, both Human and Zombie. Watch the video.

Thank you to the West Hartford Center Merchants and Business Association for hosting the hugely successful 2nd annual Power of Purple Shopping Extravaganza! Fifty West Hartford Center shops and restaurants participated in this special event.
